for Freedom and Federation
the Shallow Sea
The Shallow Sea lies between the eastern continent and what remains of Zealandia. So named because the sea is, in places, as shallow as only 3 yards, the Shallow Sea contains the remnants of the land bridge that connected the city of Wesport to the man made continent of Zealandia. In places where the land bridge remains largely intact, sailors can see the remains of the ivory bricked path and its lantern posts break the surface of the water.
Although the race prefers much deeper seas, sahuagins have proliferated in the Shallow Sea for reasons unknown to the Federation. It is said the sahuagin despised the ancients for raising Zealandia from the depths and so guard over the sunken continent to ensure the blasphemy of dry land never rises again. Less superstitious folks believe the sahuagin have settled because it is largely free of their merfolk enemies and the Shallow Sea frequently sees heavy traffic from Wesport and other western port cities.
